Black Road - blackroadchicago.bandcamp.com
*Sultry, 4-piece heavy blues/stoner doom*
Hailing from Chicago and inspired by the great artists who came before, Black Road has set out to create a sound that simply FEELS GOOD. Merging rock, stoner metal and doom, the heavy blues explosion captivates the listener. Suzi Uzi leads the pack with her bluesy vocals and doom-laden lyrics, with Tim M. shredding and riffing away on guitar, Casey Papp transcending into space and laying the groove on bass, and Rob Gonzales devastating the skins and holding it down on drums. With a cassette and vinyl release through DHU Records (Netherlands), as well as a CD release with BloodRock Records (Italy), Black Road is already pumping out the grooves all over the globe.
Marmora - marmora.bandcamp.com
*Blazing 4-piece stoner rock/space riffers*
Sporting a sound more in line with the depths of a murky swamp than their Chicago brethren, area quartet Marmora are turning heads as well as banging them. Their dirty, howling guitars, crushing bass, and commanding drums recall the stoner rock of yesteryear, while layering on chaotic solos with an undeniable energy. Having honed their chops since 2001, Marmora is a tight-knit family affair that was started by brothers Alex, Ulysses, and Zaid Salazar. Check out their EP "Criterion" streaming now on, and on their Bandcamp page.
